Christopher O'Riley
Saturday, December 5, 2009, 8pm
Dinkelspiel Auditorium

Don’t touch that dial! The excitement is live on-stage as host
and acclaimed pianist Christopher O’Riley joins some of the country’s
most promising young classical musicians for a taping of the hit radio
program From the Top. Celebrating its tenth year on the air and heard on nearly 250 stations nationwide,* From the Top
showcases the talents of exceptional pre-collegiate musicians (ages
8–18) and highlights the roles of its participants as peer models and
emerging cultural leaders.
O’Riley is renowned for his classically influenced solo-piano
reimaginings of music by pop artists like Radiohead (as heard in a 2008
Lively Arts “Informance”) and Elliott Smith, in addition to recordings
of works by Ravel, Scriabin, and other composers.
* From the Top is broadcast locally on Lively Arts sponsor station
KDFC 102.1 FM which will air this performance at a later date.
