Memorial Auditorium
Angels are few and far between in City of Angels, a jazzy musical comedy filled with intrigue. Stine, an ambitious Hollywood screenwriter, has put everything on the line to meet the demands of Buddy, the film's producer. As Stine writes his script, its events unfold onstage. Private eye Stone, the star of Stine's screenplay, searches for the missing stepdaughter of the stunning Alaura Kingsley and finds himself on a chase through the underworld of 1940s Los Angeles.
Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, City of Angels is a clever and jazzy parody of film noir and detective fiction--complete with lingerie, romance, guns, and cheeky humor! Music by Cy Coleman, composer of Sweet Charity, and book by Larry Gelbart, co-creator of M*A*S*H.
